So the news for the week...

Well first let me start off by wishing Google a happy belated birthday. Thats right Google is now ten years old. Google was started September 7th 1998 (damn I wish I had bought stock).

No on to other news...

Apple seems to be slated to release 2.1 version of the iPhone/iPod Touch Tuesday September 9th. I personally can't wait. It seems, that along with some leaked bug fixes, there are some new features that have not even been beta tested by community developers (hope Steve's not making another mistake here). Either way I am ready for the next update.

What is the Brady bunch (New England Patriots for those of you not privy to the joke) going to do without Tom Brady? Matt Cassel is definitely not a franchise QB and who are you going to call in? looks like this might be the end of the Patriots Super Bowl hopes for this season.

Well that's all for now, stay tuned...

Richie Hawtin's Digital DJ Rig

This is un-freakin-believable. It is amazing to me what can be done in the DJ world today. I am sure some might say, as he does, that this is not DJing. I think anyone hearing him would be entertained, and is that not the point?

Found my first gripe with Chrome...

First, let me start by saying that a gripe, in my book, is nothing more than a toned down rant.

Well after using Google's new Chrome browser for most of the day, I have fond at least one flaw( actually my wife uncovered this, i just documented it and sent it to Google ;) ). While navigating Facebook we found that certain in page navigation (like this "<< <> >>Next") would not function at all. I looked at the underlying code and it seems they were similar to an in page bookmark. I packaged up the code and a screen print and sent this over to the great folks at Google. I will keep you updated of any status change.

I am not really feeling the whole blogging right now so...

Stay tuned...

Day 2, and do I have some rants...

Well first let me start with the good stuff...

Well...

Ok, my Co Ed soccer team won our first match. It was a crazy match that ended with a score of 5-4 (who says soccer isn't a high scoring game). I am home now and getting ready to take a shower and go to bed.

I took a look at a very promising browser from Google (thanks to the recommendation of a friend, thanks Seth) called Chrome. I will review further later.

Thats it for the good stuff... now for the Rants...

First of all where did the majority of Memphis drivers learn to drive (this may become a reoccurring theme here). I mean I am pretty sure that all cars made for the last few decades have turn signals yet most people don't use them properly. Oh and turning lanes, they are there for your use, please use them. I see people who come to a complete stop prior to entering the turn lane, use the freakin' lane to slow down (exceptions made for oncoming cars in lane). These lanes can also be used to enter the roadway. Use the lane and watch oncoming traffic. FnA!

Ok enough about drivers...

What is with this story? I mean the guy was not profiting from this yet they treated him like a thief. I built the application with his own hands and didn't steal code. I have seen Tetris© remakes all over the internet and I don't see this Tetris© copyright or trademark holder going after them. The fact of the matter is that Tetris© spawned most of the Puzzle type games we see today. They are almost all based on some or all of the principles of Tetris©. This being said, and I am not a lawyer, but isn't there some sort of statute of limitations of copyrights? The game is not called Tetris© but Tris, yes a play on the word but not the word. I would guess that the colors chosen as well as many other variations would in effect make this a new game that cannot be called an infringement. Oh well just my two cents.

That is all for this evening...

Stay tuned...

First post

Well, I have been buried in work and life too much over the last few years to even think about blogging and social networking sites. I decided this weekend after watching my wife find long lost friends and interesting content on facebook I decided it was time...

So after creating my facebook and twitter accounts, the next logical step was to create my blog. I am not sure how well I will keep this up, or what if any purpose it will serve. It may serve as nothing more than the current page title states, my place to rant.

Hopefully there will be something of worth as time goes on but for now...

stay tuned...
